Oaks,PA (September 8, 2022)—The Gary & Vivienne Player Foundation hosts its first major fundraiser onSeptember 12 at Union League Liberty Hill in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.  The Foundation’s Inaugural Ambassador Event features an exclusive golf experience with Gary Player and Annika Sorenstam on the club’s Player designed course that is followed by a charity auction and a special culinary and South African wine reception for some 100 invited guests.

The 501 (c) 3 philanthropy was established in January 2022 with the mission of lifting children in the U.S. from poverty by supporting organizations whose work positively impacts the lives of vulnerable children.  The Gary &Vivienne Player Foundation continues the dedicated commitment and legacy ofGary and his late wife Vivienne who through their efforts affected positive change in the lives of underprivileged, neglected and at risk children around the world.

Player’s daughter Amanda-Leigh Player Hallleads the Foundation in its quest to assist charities that are working toprovide education, health and housing to break the cycles of childhood poverty.

“I am so grateful for this incredible country and all the opportunities it has given me to succeed and make my dreams come true,” said Player.  “ThisFoundation is a vehicle for me to make a difference and to give back to the communities and people that have loved and supported me through the years.”

The Foundation has pledged that the proceeds of the inaugural Ambassador Event will go to its designated beneficiaries:  the Episcopal Community Services Out of SchoolTime program and the four inner city Philadelphia Schools they include; and thePalm Beach Gardens, Florida, based Place of Hope.  Place of Hope is a faith-based, state licensed children and families organization in Palm Beach County and theTreasure Coast that offers housing and support services to end homelessness and poverty.
